AQU celebrates the achievements of Emirati women

Sharjah24: On the occasion of Emirati Women’s Day, Al Qasimia University convened a special symposium featuring Saliha Ghabash, Head of the Cultural Office of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs. The symposium was titled "Biography of an Emirati Woman/ Saliha Ghabash as a Model."
The meeting is part of Al Qasimia University's efforts to recognize the accomplishments of Emirati women and promote their societal contributions. The event is one of several organized by the university to address community concerns and honor influential individuals. Dr. Awad Al Khalaf, Chancellor of AQU, welcomed the guest, and Ahlam Bin Jarsh, Assistant Director of Public Affairs, was also present.

During the meeting, Saliha Ghabbash provided an overview of her academic and educational career, emphasizing the groundbreaking experiences of Emirati women both historically and in contemporary times. She discussed the role of visionary leadership in promoting women's advancement since the establishment of the union, and her own significant contributions resulting from the leadership's support and empowerment initiatives. This was all within the context of recognizing the vital role of women in advancing development and progress.

At the meeting, She conducted a comprehensive review of her academic and educational trajectory, emphasizing the evolution of Emirati women's status from the past to the present. She underscored the unwavering support of the UAE's wise leadership for women, dating back to the nation's inception, and highlighted the instrumental role of this sagacious vision in empowering women and facilitating their access to avenues for remarkable achievements.

She emphasized the significant contribution of Emirati women in advancing development and progress. He highlighted their pivotal role as a result of the strategic efforts of the wise leadership to empower women across various spheres of life. She stated that Emirati Women's Day reflects the nation’s leadership's dedication to advancing gender equality and empowering women in society. The United Arab Emirates has made significant strides in women's participation, thanks to a progressive vision that recognizes the crucial role of women in the nation's development.

Today, Emirati women are occupying leadership positions and achieving outstanding results in various domains, reflecting their strong will. Saliha Ghabbash expressed her gratitude to Al Qasimia University for hosting her. The meeting included an interactive session where Ghabbash answered attendees' questions and shared some of her personal experiences and challenges she faced in her career. Dr. Wedad Haroun, Associate Professor at the College of Communication, moderated the meeting.
