Sharjah24: During the Tuesday Forum activities, the House of Poetry in Sharjah organized a poetry evening on August 20. The event featured three poets—Youssef Hatini from Palestine, Mohammed Mahboubi from Mauritania, and Abdul Razzaq Al-Darbas from Syria. The audience, consisting of poets, critics, and poetry enthusiasts, arrived on time and actively engaged with the poets and their works, creating a vibrant and lively atmosphere. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Buraiki, the Director of the House of Poetry, was also present at the event.
The event commenced with a presentation by media personality Mohammed Al Mansouri, acknowledging the contributions of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, in positioning Sharjah as a hub for literary pursuits and a guiding force for poetic endeavours. He lauded the proactive role of the Department of Culture and the initiatives of the House of Poetry, stating, "In this eloquent gathering celebrating the power of words, we express our heartfelt gratitude to the cultural and literary patron, His Highness Sheikh the Ruler of Sharjah, a steadfast advocate of free expression and progressive ideas, who has transformed Sharjah into a bastion of knowledge and the arts."
Toward the conclusion of the event, poet Mohammed Al Buraiki paid tribute to the poets and the master of ceremonies for the evening.
