Sharjah 24: Suhaila Al Balushi, the shooting team administrator at the Sharjah Women's Sports Foundation, announced the launch of the Amateur Shooting Championship for women, featuring competitors in both junior and senior categories. The championship took place at the Shooting Club within the Foundation. Training for the participants began on August 17, the day before the championship.
In exclusive statements to "Sharjah 24," Suhaila stated, "Our goal with this championship is to raise awareness of shooting sports among women and encourage more women to participate in this sport." She added that the championship uses electronic targets to efficiently assess the accuracy of the shooters.
Suhaila explained that the participants are divided by age categories, and the shooters compete to hit the targets with the highest accuracy possible to win prizes, including a trophy and a gold medal for first place, a silver medal for second place, and a bronze medal for third place.
