SDHR launches Training and Qualifying Job Seekers’ Programme

Sharjah 24: Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, Sharjah Department of Human Resources (SDHR), launched on, Monday, the "Sharjah Programme for Training and Qualifying Job Seekers".
The programme targets 1,815 national job seekers registered in SDHR database. The programme aims to provide them with specialised programmes and field training that give them the required practical experience, which will ultimately contribute to attracting them to work in different projects in the emirate.

The programme comes in response to His Highness's directives, as each trainee will receive a monthly reward of 6,000 dirhams during the training period that extends for 6 months. The training period is divided into 3 months for qualification, and 3 months for field training. The programme includes many supporting courses and workshops that aim to enhance the skills of participants and prepare them to integrate into different work environments.

The programme was launched including 500 job seekers from Sharjah, 400 from Khorfakkan, 400 from Kalba, 200 from Dibba Al Hisn, 300 from the Central Region, and 15 citizens from Al Hamriyah. They were distributed into 5 groups according to their academic qualifications. They receive their training within the framework of 8 unified programmes that include a set of foundational topics, most notably the foundations for successfully passing a job interview, skills for dealing with employees and clients, human resources laws, administrative skills, communication skills, and rules of excellence in work environments. 

On the occasion of the programme launch, His Excellency Abdullah Ibrahim Al Zaabi, Member of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Sharjah and Chairman of SDHR, confirmed that the programme reflects the vision and wise directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, in promoting human development and sustainability in the emirate. 

Al Zaabi praised the wise decisions that support the efforts to qualify national competencies, noting that the programme represents a strong foundation for preparing Emirati youth to engage in government work, which enhances the competitiveness of national professionals.

His Excellency Abdullah Ibrahim Al Zaabi explained that the programme is being implemented in coordination with the University of Sharjah and a number of other universities and colleges in different cities of the emirate. He pointed out that the field training is compatible with the participants’ specialisations and will be implemented in government agencies. 

Al Zaabi added that the programme contributes to providing participants with direct practical experience and benefiting from communication with government leaders and employees, which enables them to plan their career path more effectively.

Al Zaabi stressed that SDHR is committed, through its various platforms and renewed initiatives, to empowering young national professionals and enhancing their participation in the labour market, in the public and private sectors.

His Excellency Abdullah Ibrahim Al Zaabi called on job seekers to register in the department's database to benefit from the qualification programmes that the department regularly offers, which contribute to developing their skills and enhancing their experiences.
