Sharjah 24: Sharjah Police captured a drug smuggling attempt by a gang that intended to conceal drugs in marble slabs.
Colonel Majid Sultan Al-Asam, Director of the Anti-Narcotics Department of Sharjah Police, stated that intelligence reports suggest that traffickers outside the country directed the gang's actions with the goal of smuggling and distributing drugs locally.

The Anti-Narcotics Department launched field operations to identify gang members, monitor their actions, and establish connections to regional and international drug trafficking networks. The group used new smuggling methods, hiding the drugs inside marble slabs delivered to UAE ports. However, the one-by-one capture of the gang members foiled their scheme.

Colonel Al-Asam reported this smuggling strategy to all national entry points and bolstered collaboration with Sharjah Customs to block the criminal network's smuggling channels.

Major General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, lauded the teams' efforts and the cooperation of security agencies and institutions in stopping the spread of drugs.

The Sharjah Police General Command urged citizens and residents to resist external temptations and cooperate with the police by reporting drug promoters to 8004654 or [email protected].
