Sharjah24: A workshop on school theatre techniques, titled "Elements of Building a Successful Theater Show," was launched at the National Institute of Arts in Nouakchott, the capital of Mauritania. This event was organized by the Arab Theater Institute in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, represented by the National Institute of Arts, and the Ministry of Education and Education System Reform, represented by the Directorate of Social and Educational Revival. The workshop aimed at providing a rich training program for twenty trainees, including 7 teachers and 13 artists who excelled in the Mauritanian National Theater Festival sessions.
This workshop is part of Mauritania's preparations to organize a new session of the School Theater Festival, which was interrupted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The festival serves as an important platform for nurturing and developing theatre artists in Mauritania. The Arab Theatre Institute (ATI), which initiated and supported the festival in its initial sessions, sees the festival as a working model that aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and Supreme President of the Arab Theatre Institute. It emphasizes the obligation to support and develop theatre in Arab regions that are most in need of such support and development.

The ongoing session, scheduled to continue until August 21, is part of an extensive series of sessions organized by the Institute in Mauritania. These sessions have significantly contributed to the revival of the Mauritanian theatrical movement and have been overseen by prominent Arab figures who have left a lasting impact, including Ibrahim Salem from the UAE, Yahya Al-Hajj from Sudan, Salim Al-Sanhaji, Fathi Al-Akkari, and Al-Baghdadi Aoun from Tunisia, Asma Mustafa from Jordan, Jamal Al-Qarmi, Haroun Al-Kilani, and Mohammad Sharshall from Algeria, and Amin Nasour from Morocco. The current session is under the supervision of artist Mounir Al-Amari from Tunisia (a member of the Arab Pivotal Team 2) and a certified trainer from the Arab Trainers Union. Mr. Abdel Fattah Souli, the Mauritanian writer and director and a current member of the Board of Trustees of the ATI, is responsible for coordinating and administratively managing the session.

Ismail Abdullah, Secretary General of the ATI and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, remarked that the Institute's commitment to conducting such sessions in various Arab nations aligns with the directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah. By focusing on training, documentation, and publication programs, the Institute and its partners aim to foster the growth of theatre within every Arab nation, empowering it to fulfil its essential developmental and civilizational role.
