Sharjah24: The Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD) participated in the tenth edition of "Sharjah Summer," a month-long sporting event held from July 1st to August 1st under the motto "Our Distinguished Holiday." Representatives from several government agencies, along with youngsters aged 7 to 17, attended the wide range of sports and events organised by the Mleiha Sports Club.
Mariam Ibrahim Al Qaseer, Director of the Social Education Department, underlined the department's commitment to participate in numerous Sharjah activities, which will help to increase awareness of its social, educational, and humanitarian functions in society.
She went on: "The activities of Sharjah Summer Sports are among the main events on the emirate's map, especially since they are organised during the summer holidays to make productive use of children's time during school vacations, offering various activities suitable for everyone."
She continued, "Throughout the month, social workers from the Social Education Department delivered three different activities daily, focussing on themes picked by the Sharjah Sports Council. These themes encourage sporting ideals, national identity, sustainability, volunteerism, and emphasise the emirate's tourist attractions and museums.
She also said that the Safe Digital Life Ambassadors participated in the events, giving their peers guidance on how to use computers and the internet safely.
