Sheikh Khalid Al Qasimi pointed out that the anniversary of the founding of the Federation is an inspiring occasion in promoting the game in the region and globally, hoping that the anniversary of the founding in 2024 will be a motivating factor to continue efforts; achieve strategic goals; sustain projects, businesses, programmes, competitions and tournaments; and spread the culture of chess among Arab youth.
In the same context, ACF, headquartered in Sharjah, announced the launch of the Translation and Writing Award, coinciding with the anniversary of the founding of the Federation. The award aims to promote the Arabic content about the game of chess, either through the candidate writing a new Arabic book, or through participating in translating foreign books into Arabic, which include a wealth of knowledge and various topics related to the game of chess, which positively reflects on the expansion and advancement of the cultural and intellectual aspect among amateurs and professionals of the game, trainers and technicians throughout the Arab world.
The award will start receiving candidates’ works from August 8 to September 29, and all individuals and institutions are entitled to participate according to the conditions that will be announced later, whether the author or translator wishing to nominate from the national chess federations and their technical and administrative staff and players; academies and clubs related to the game of chess; sports and cultural media institutions and their employees; in addition to Arab content creators on social media and from all Arab countries.
It is worth noting that nomination and evaluation, details of the award and financial rewards allocated to the winners will be published through the accounts and pages of the Arab Chess Federation social media platforms and website.
