Developing Innovative Technologies to Achieve Financial Stability and Sustainability in Various Government Entities in Sharjah
In this context, Huda Al Yasi, Director of the Financial System Department at the SFD, stated that the department aims, through these workshops, to monitor and assess the level of quality in implementing its projects and initiatives related to developing innovative technologies. These technologies contribute to achieving financial stability and sustainability in various government entities in Sharjah.
Huda Al Yasi mentioned that the “Takamul” government financial system, which was launched in 2006, represents an integrated system among the best government financial resource systems in the Arab world. It contains comprehensive programs for all the requirements of government financial work, in addition to many supporting programs that serve government work through their connection with certain internal work systems in the departments and governmental entities. She highlighted the importance of periodic review of such qualitative systems to identify areas for improvement and development, ensuring the highest performance levels for the benefit of individuals and institutions.
The "Takamul" System Works on Developing Government Financial Services and Achieving Customer Satisfaction
The workshop covered how the "Takamul" system works towards developing government financial services and achieving customer satisfaction. The system has received numerous Arab and international awards, including the Sharjah Award in Public Finance for the Best Arab Government Financial System in 2018 and the Stevie Award for the Best Electronic Financial System in 2019. Initially, the system started with three main modules comprising procurement, budgeting, and government accounting, and was connected with 25 government entities. This number has since expanded, with the system now encompassing 16 modules linked to 140 government entities within the country.
The workshop presented general statistics about the system, including the classification of beneficiary entities, outputs of the system in terms of operational statistics for the year 2023, the number of developments and changes implemented, the number of reports issued, the number of procedures within the system, and its unique features. Additionally, it provided an overview of the main financial programs included, as well as the global and local systems it connects with.
