The event was attended by His Excellency Waleed Al Sayegh, Director General of Sharjah Finance Department, along with a distinguished group of heads, general managers, and directors of government departments, institutions, and bodies, as well as the award’s general secretariat and financial and administrative personnel from Sharjah.
This year’s edition saw exceptional participation from more than 60 governmental and independent entities, along with over 700 financial employees, who competed across various institutional and individual award categories. This reflects the growing base of participation and the increasing maturity of institutions, demonstrating their commitment to adopting the best financial and accounting practices.
His Excellency Sheikh Rashid bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Director of the Sharjah Finance Department, emphasized that the 6th edition witnessed remarkable development in the number of participants and the variety of categories introduced. He said, "This year, we were keen to align with the emerging changes in the financial landscape. New categories were introduced, including 'Leading Entity in Applying Taxation Standards,' 'Outstanding Tax Analyst,' and 'Outstanding Assets and Inventory Controller' to enhance tax compliance and encourage excellence in managing public resources."
He added that the award has become a pioneering platform for instilling a culture of financial quality, noting that financial excellence today is not just measured by numbers but by the ability of institutions to create tangible, sustainable impacts in managing public funds.
His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud Al Qasimi honored the winners in 12 institutional categories and 13 individual categories, reflecting the strategic direction of the award in promoting the role of government entities in leadership and financial excellence and developing specialized financial competencies.
The award received extensive support from both the public and private sectors, with 19 official entities participating in its sponsorship this year. Among the platinum sponsors were Al Qasimia University, Emirates Auctions, Sharjah Asset Management, and Sharjah Insurance Company, alongside a number of gold sponsors. This highlights the importance of collaboration between partners in supporting the government’s path to excellence.
The Sharjah Finance Department, through this award, continues to reinforce its commitment to governance, transparency, and innovation in government financial work. It provides a rewarding system that enhances performance and supports the development of national cadres capable of keeping pace with changes and achieving sustainable excellence in the Emirate of Sharjah.
