Sharjah 24: Mleiha Sports Club carried out distinguished activities within the first week of Sharjah Summer Sports activities, as the first week was titled “Here is Sharjah”.
Events saw a large turnout by young people and included a variety of activities aimed at enhancing the skills and developing capabilities of the participants.

Summer programmes organised by Mleiha Sports Club are distinguished by their diversity and their inclusion of sports, cultural and educational activities, which contributes to the development of participants’ personal and social skills.

These programmes are vital for the people of Sharjah, as they provide a safe and enjoyable environment to invest their free time in a constructive and useful way, and enhance the spirit of cooperation and communication between them.

Muhammad Awad Al Ketbi, member of the Board of Directors of the Maliha Club, Chairman of “Our Holiday is Different” Committee, and Chairman of the Cultural Committee, explained that the club implemented a number of activities that were greatly appreciated by participants.

Al Ketbi said that such activities seek to achieve the vision of Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) in providing a positive and beneficial environment for the people of the emirate during the summer vacation.

The first week included many distinguished activities, including an evacuation workshop presented by Sharjah Self-Defense Club, a course for reciting the Holy Quran, in addition to sports activities that included football, basketball, volleyball, taekwondo, swimming, and laser shooting.

Activities also included lessons on the Prophet’s life and the jurisprudence of prayer, with the aim of enhancing religious and moral values among the participants. As part of the educational trips, participants visited the Buhais Geopark and Mleiha Archaeological Centre, where they learned about the history of the region and its geological and archaeological importance.

Among other events that saw great demand was the “Little Journalist” workshop, which aimed to develop communication and media skills among children and youth, and provide them with basic knowledge in this field.

In conclusion, Al Ketbi confirmed that the club will continue to organise more diverse events and activities during the coming weeks, which will contribute to investing leisure time in a positive and constructive way, and enhance social communication and cohesion among community members.
