Sharjah24: Yesterday morning, the Mleiha Club's Summer Activities were officially launched as part of Sharjah Sports Summer, with notable attendance from prominent regional figures. The event was graced by the presence of His Excellency Rashid Abdullah Al Mahyan, Chairman of the Parents' Council in the Central Region, Ahmed Al Salman, Head of Initiatives and Sports Events at the Sharjah Sports Council, Dr. Abdullah Salem Bin Hamouda Al Ketbi, Director of the Social Services Department in Mleiha, Dr. Salem Zayed Khalifa Al Tunaji, Professor of Emirati Studies at the Higher Colleges of Technology in Sharjah and Chairman of Al Bustan Suburb Council, and Dr. Saeed Ballith Al Tunaiji, a family and educational consultant.
Also in attendance were His Excellency Mohammed Sultan Al Khassouni, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mleiha Club, Abdullah Salem Al Ketbi, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mleiha Club, alongside representatives from the Central Region Police.
The event began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, where attendees were introduced to the summer activities that will run for five weeks. The activities include various programs aimed at developing participants' abilities and enhancing their sports, cultural, and social skills.
The opening featured a tour of the activity sites, meetings with the programme organisers, and an opportunity to observe some activities taking place simultaneously with the launch. The event emphasised showcasing best practices in organising summer activities, focusing on developing participants' skills.
It was highlighted that these activities are a strategic initiative aligned with the club's goals and aspirations for a distinguished sports summer. Participants were provided with the necessary tools and knowledge to ensure the success and maximum benefit of the summer activities.
The events saw a large turnout from the youth of Mleiha and neighbouring areas, reflecting the significant enthusiasm and diversity of the activities. The activities aimed to offer a unique and beneficial sports experience for young people, contributing to the enhancement of sports activities in Sharjah under the Sharjah Sports Council's guidance.
In his speech, His Excellency Mohammed Sultan Al Khassouni, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mleiha Club, expressed his delight at the great momentum of the events, emphasizing the importance of summer activities in refining youth skills and fostering cooperation and interaction among them. He praised the significant role played by the Sharjah Sports Council in supporting and organizing these events, expressing his appreciation to all attendees and participants for their contributions to the success of these activities.
The ceremony concluded with the honoring of attendees, acknowledging their continuous support for sports and community activities. Certificates of appreciation were distributed, and commemorative photos were taken in a celebratory atmosphere filled with pride and joy.
The activities are scheduled to continue until the first of August, offering more outstanding activities and programs aimed at meeting the aspirations of the youth and advancing sports and cultural activities in the region.
