The Prevention and Safety Authority has announced the launch of the "Registration of Safety and Occupational Health Officers" service, which includes an electronic platform for submitting applications to the authority in order to obtain a registration certificate as a safety and occupational health officer in the Emirate of Sharjah. The authority has also launched the "Safety and Occupational Health Officers' Guide" to enhance compliance with the requirements of the Sharjah Occupational Health and Safety System.
Sheikh Engineer Khaled bin Saqr Al Qasimi, the Chairman of the Prevention and Safety Authority, explained that entities must comply with the regulations in the emirate by appointing a safety and occupational health officer, in accordance with Executive Council Decision No. (15) of 2021 regarding the Sharjah Occupational Health and Safety System. This is aimed at enabling entities to enhance their level of compliance with safety and occupational health requirements in the Emirate of Sharjah, in line with the authority's vision of achieving a safe society free from hazards.
It is expected that this service will contribute to improving the level of safety and occupational health at various work sites, which will have a positive impact on the safety of workers and productivity.
