Sharjah24: The Board of Trustees of the Sheikha Jawaher Al Qasimi Award for Sports Excellence hosted a special event on Monday, June 3rd, at the Sharjah Hall of the Sharjah Cultural Chess Club. The ceremony honoured the members of the award committees and the teams that competed in the first edition of the award.
Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of the Award's Board of Trustees, led the ceremony, which included committee members and coordinators from several sports clubs and organisations.
The ceremony began with a speech by Al Hazami, who complimented the efforts of the committees and work teams, underscoring that their devotion and loyalty were the driving elements behind the award's success in its inaugural year.
Al Hazami praised the winners in the various award categories of the award that bears Her Highness' name, Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of the Sharjah Women's Sports Foundation (SWSF), and promised to support and invest in their achievements and distinction.
He confirmed that the next edition's podium will prioritise the top performers in the upcoming phase.
Al Hazami, together with Najla Al Shamsi, Secretary General of the Board of Trustees, honoured the award winners and committee members.
