Sharjah24: The Sharjah Press Club's "Tawasul (Communication)" meeting today delved into the initiatives and outcomes of the Sharjah Department of Housing.
The meeting, held at the department's headquarters, was attended by Engineer Khaled Butti Al Muhairi, Chairman of the Department of Housing, Tariq Saeed Allay, Director-General of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), Engineer Ibrahim Al Housani, Director of the Department of Housing, Asma Al Juwaied, Manager of Sharjah Press Club (SPC), and several departmental directors.
This gathering is part of the Sharjah Press Club's initiatives, operating under the Sharjah Government Media Bureau 's umbrella, to enhance communication and collaboration between the media and various official entities and departments in the Emirate of Sharjah.
Data from the Sharjah Department of Housing revealed that the total value of housing support for housing projects amounted to AED 13.5 billion, benefiting 13,474 beneficiaries since the department's establishment in 2011.
The total housing support is distributed among grants provided by the department, totaling 6930 grants, while the total number of loans reached 6544 loans.
Al Muhairi emphasised the department's commitment to implementing the directives and visions of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to accelerate the pace of housing support utilisation and harness all its energies to meet the housing needs of the Emirate's citizens from various cities and regions.
He highlighted the department's dedication to meeting the housing needs of the Emirate's citizens, striving to provide suitable housing and decent living standards for citizen families, and advancing the housing sector in Sharjah.
Allay underscored the importance of the Sharjah Department of Housing's initiatives in line with the vision and directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, aimed at providing housing stability for citizen families and a decent life. He commended the department's efforts in providing sustainable housing and supporting the developmental directions in the Emirate of Sharjah.
He also praised the media's efforts in supporting the "Tawasul" initiative adopted by the Sharjah Press Club, highlighting the importance of cooperation between the media and governmental institutions as partners in building and development, given their role in conveying accurate and reliable information, enhancing transparency, and introducing governmental initiatives and achievements.
The meeting discussed mechanisms for supporting residential complexes in various cities and regions of the Emirate to achieve family stability for citizens and continue the sustainable development journey in the Emirate of Sharjah.
The media was briefed on the housing support options system that serves various segments of the community applying for it, including new construction services, completion and purchase of housing, addition and maintenance, obtaining a ready-made government residence within residential complexes, and establishing mini housing units
The Department of Housing implements distinguished projects that support the development of the government housing system in the Emirate, aiming to improve the housing situation, support its requirements, and achieve the well-being and happiness of citizen families, while ensuring the availability of all service needs and infrastructure.
Housing Projects:
Dr. Ahmed Al Naqbi, Director of the Government Communication Department at the Department of Housing, presented the department's journey, achievements, and various initiatives aimed at realizing the vision and mission of the department, based on the directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah.
Dr. Al Naqbi pointed out that the department provides housing support to eligible citizens of the Emirate, whether it is a housing grant or a housing loan, explaining that eligibility for loans is for individuals whose income equals or exceeds AED 25,000, while grants are disbursed to those with incomes below this amount.
Dr. Naqbi discussed the Temporary Housing Initiative, which specializes in providing rental assistance, stating that the number of beneficiary families has reached 5,897.
The efforts of the Department of Housing have resulted in launching several outstanding projects, including the Mahdub Suburb project in the city of Sharjah, which is one of the latest residential projects recently announced.
The Director of Government Communication at the Department of Housing stated that the project includes three integrated residential complexes of high quality that meet the aspirations and ambitions of citizens. They adhere to the highest standards of quality, sustainability, and international environmental requirements. The project is also distinguished by providing community services that enable residents to meet their daily needs and enjoy a decent life.
The Mahdub Suburb includes Al Qatina 1 residential project, which consists of 362 housing units with multiple facades that suit the needs of the beneficiaries.
Work is currently underway on two other projects, including Al Qatina 3 residential project, consisting of 429 units, and Al Shanouf 4 residential complex consists of 549 units.
In addition, the city of Sharjah includes the Mini Housing Units complex, which consists of 24 mini units for non-growing families, including the elderly, widows, and divorcees.
Eastern Region
During the "Tawasul" meeting, the projects in the Eastern Region were reviewed, including Al Haray Residential Complex in Khorfakkan, which is one of the prominent projects in terms of the number of housing units implemented by the department in the Eastern Region.
The project, implemented in several construction phases; is characterized by its modern and contemporary facades based on highest standards that align with the concepts of Emirati families by constructing residential neighborhoods path that provide all community services.
Al Haray Residential Complex project includes 48 housing units, while work continues on the next phase of the project, which comprises 329 units with multiple facades.
Khorfakkan also includes Al Nahwa Residential Project, which consists of 16 housing units. Work is underway to implement Al Batha 1 Residential Complex project, which includes 81 housing units, as well as the Mini Housing Units complex, which consists of 16 units designated for non-growing families.
Kalba
Al Saaf Residential Complex project’s topic was discussed during the "Tawasul" meeting. It comprises 424 housing units with diverse modern facades and is considered one of the prominent housing projects in the city of Kalba. The aim of the project is to facilitate the lives of community members.
The city of Kalba also includes two other projects: Al Muhtadi Residential Complex, which includes 31 housing units, and Al Qulaiei Residential Project, which includes 24 housing units.
Dibba Al Hisn
The Island Al Hisn Residential Buildings project, in its first phase, features eight double residential buildings with seven repeated floors. It stands out with its innovative architectural character that adds a beautiful aesthetic touch in line with the urban development in the Emirate of Sharjah.
The project provides housing services and allows for the utilization of available spaces while utilizing the best facilities and high-quality services that support family stability and privacy in residential neighborhoods.
The Department of Housing continues its efforts to implement principles of development and continuous improvement in order to achieve the vision of the Emirate of Sharjah by providing the best services to its citizens, enhancing family stability, and meeting the needs and aspirations of citizen families according to the best housing standards and criteria.
