Sharjah 24: Al Dhaid Club received, with flowers, shooting players who represented the national team and achieved outstanding results during the Arab Shooting Championship (rifle and pistol), held in Tunisia recently.
The team from Al Dhaid Club was represented by seven players, in more than one competition, in the rifle and 10-metre pistol for men and juniors, and 9 Arab countries participated in the tournament.
Champions were received by Salem Mohammed bin Howaiden Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Dhaid Club; Humaid Abdullah Bel Sadria Al Khatri, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Dhaid Club; His Excellency Malek Musabah Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Marketing and Investment Committee; His Excellency Saif bin Dalwan Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Strategic Planning and Institutional Excellence Committee; and Mahir Obaid Al Khayal Al Tunaiji, Managing Director of Al Dhaid Club.
The team won eight coloured medals, and Al Dhaid Club players won three gold and three silver medals. The overall standings for the tournament were second place for the UAE in the men’s 10m rifle competitions. Ibrahim Khalil Ibrahim won first place and second place in teams; Talal Muhammad Al Ali won second place in teams; and Salem Muhammad won second place in teams. Rashid Al Yamahi won second place.
In the junior 10m rifle competition, Sultan Saleh Muhammad Hassan won first place in the individual and second place in the mixed competition.
In the 10m pistol competition for juniors, Rashid Obaid Al Ali won first place in teams, Saud Ahmed Al Ali won second place individually, and first place in teams.
Ali bin Nouma Al Ketbi, supervisor of the national team, coach Muammar Imad Al Allaf, coach of the rifle, and Amin Muthanna Al Mansouri, coach of the pistol, were also honoured for their efforts.
In this regard, His Excellency Salem Mohammed bin Howaiden Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Dhaid Club, praised the players’ achievements and the efforts they made and the honourable results they achieved in international fora, wishing them more success.
