Sharjah 24: The men's handball team of Sharjah Club kicked off the 2023/24 sports season's His Highness the President of the State Handball Cup competition with a notable victory. Facing off against Al Wasl team in the quarter-finals at the Shabab Al Ahli Club hall in Dubai, Friday, Sharjah secured a decisive win with a scoreline of 33-26.
This victory propels Sharjah into the semi-finals of the competition, setting the stage for an upcoming showdown against the winner between Al Ain and Al Jazira on Tuesday, May 21. The final match of the His Highness the President’s Cup is scheduled for Friday, May 24.
Sharjah's achievement adds to its illustrious history in the President's Cup, with the team boasting an impressive 10 titles to its name. The Sharjah team has dominated the season, clinching victories in the Federation Cup, Emirates Cup, UAE Super Cup, and the General League. Additionally, they secured an external title, the Emirati-Bahraini Super Cup. With their eyes set on further success, Sharjah aims to continue their winning streak and clinch more prestigious titles.
