Sharjah 24: The semi-finals of the President’s Cup bring together Al Ain and Al Wasl, and Sharjah and Ajman, as they battle it out to determine the final contenders.
Tomorrow, Friday, the second-leg matches of the President's Cup for football will take place, with Al Ain hosting Al Wasl at the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium, while Sharjah visits Ajman at the Rashid Bin Saeed Stadium.
In the initial encounter, Al Ain and Al Wasl are both in dire need of a triumph, as it is the sole outcome that can ensure their progression to the final, following a scoreless stalemate in the first leg at Za'abeel. Should another draw occur, the match will extend to extra time, and the teams may resort to penalties if the deadlock persists.
The UAE Football Association has selected a team led by international referee Omar Al Ali to manage this match.
In the second match, Sharjah seeks to capitalize on their 2-1 home win in the first leg, and secure a win or a draw to qualify for the final, while Ajman only has one goal in mind, which is to win and advance to the final.
The UAE Football Association has selected international referee Mohamed Abdullah Hassan to officiate this match.
Sharjah, who have won the tournament 9 times, aim to match the record of 10 titles claimed by Shabab Al Ahli, while Al Ain have won 7 titles, and Al Wasl and Ajman have won it twice and once respectively.
