Sharjah24: The Sharjah Livestock Markets (SLM), in partnership with the Veterinary Control of Sharjah Municipality, has arranged a series of informative workshops targeting shop owners, barn workers, and market visitors. The initiative aims to educate participants about the proper techniques for choosing healthy livestock and animals, emphasising the significance of following health standards and maintaining cleanliness in the barns.
Abdullah Al Shamsi, Director of Sharjah City Markets, emphasised the importance of hosting and organising workshops at the livestock market. These workshops aim to educate workers and shop owners on essential awareness aspects and health practices that should be followed in livestock markets, barns, and slaughterhouses.
He highlighted the importance of regularly checking barns to ensure they meet public health regulations. This helps build customer trust and ensures that service facilities meet the expectations and demands of the local community, ultimately benefiting the overall welfare of the community.
The workshops discussed a range of topics such as identifying animal diseases that should be excluded from the market and conducting health inspections in market barns to ensure disease-free animals.
