Sharjah 24: Dr. Fatima Al Amiri, Head of the Ophthalmology Department at Al Qasimi Hospital, a volunteer doctor at the Red Crescent Medical Centre in Sharjah, confirmed that the centre received 17,000 cases during the first half of this year. These cases were provided with free treatment and medicine. They also received free of charge laboratory tests and diagnostic x-rays.
She told “Sharjah 24” that the centre is the first and only in the UAE that provides free of charge health services to low-income segment, needy families, people with needs and patients.
Al Amiri added that the centre includes 16 specialties, including internal medicine, cardiology, hepatitis, diabetes for adults and children, orthopedics, dentistry and ophthalmology, in addition to pharmacology, laboratories and radiology.
Dr. Fatima Al Amiri concluded calling on philanthropists to support the centre to continue providing its services as usual, and to go on with its noble mission in serving people in the UAE.
