Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) has announced a new road project in the “Al Sajaa Industrial Area S.” This project will create a network of single-lane roads spanning 4.6 kilometers, aimed at enhancing the overall infrastructure and road network in the emirate. The goal is to enhance traffic flow and support economic growth in the region.

Engineer Yousef Khamis Al Othmani, the Chairman of SRTA, highlighted that this road project is essential for developing the emirate's infrastructure. He noted that the new roads will make it easier to access the industrial area and will help integrate traffic in line with the rapid growth happening in various sectors.

Al Othmani also mentioned that this project aligns with the Sharjah government's plans to build modern infrastructure and improve road efficiency in key industrial areas. He emphasized the importance of creating safe roads with high standards to ensure the safety of drivers and reduce daily travel times. The project is designed to accommodate future growth and follows sustainable planning practices to meet the region's investment and economic needs in the years ahead.

Eng. Sulaiman Abdul Rahman Al Hajri, the Director of Roads Affairs at SRTA, elaborated that the project will connect the Al Sajaa area to the main dual carriageway, specifically from Interchange No. 8 on Al Dhaid Road. The new roads will have two lanes in each direction and will be designed to handle a larger amount of traffic, especially in busy industrial and commercial areas like Al Sajaa. This will help improve traffic efficiency, reduce congestion, and make travel easier for everyone during peak hours.

The Authority has made sure that the road design includes plans for future upgrades, allowing for the possibility of expanding the roads to handle more traffic as the area grows. They've also thought ahead by including necessary openings in the roads to make it easier to add services later without having to dig up the streets again. Additionally, they have set up foundations for streetlights to be installed during the construction phases.

This project is a significant step towards improving the quality of life in Sharjah and is expected to create a better infrastructure that will attract investments. It shows the Authority’s dedication to building a safe and efficient road network while following the best practices in engineering and safety. This initiative is part of a broader set of development projects aimed at supporting the rapid urban and industrial growth in Sharjah, aligning with a strategic vision to establish the emirate as a thriving economic and investment center.
