Sharjah24: Al Khalidiya Suburb Council (KSC) , affiliated to the Department of Suburbs and Villages Affairs, recently announced the continuation of its annual initiative, "Mother's Day for Deceased Mothers," for the 4th year in a row. This groundbreaking initiative sets a new standard among suburban councils and is just one example of the many commendable social and humanitarian efforts being made for the residents.
An ongoing charity initiative has been launched in collaboration with the Sharjah Charity International to celebrate and honour the important role mothers play in community building. The initiative involves digging water wells as a way to pay tribute to the deceased mothers of the suburb residents.
Yesterday evening, the Sharjah Charity International received a generous cash donation of AED 10,000 during a special ceremony held at the council headquarters in Sharjah city.
His Excellency Khalfan Saeed Al Marri, Chairman of the Khalidiya Suburb Council along with other council members and representatives from the Sharjah Charity International, attended the event.
They were joined by Mohammed Salem Al Mannai, Director of Aid Management, and Masoud Hussein Al Obaidli, Secretary of Aid Management, who received the cheque on behalf of the association.
