Sharjah24: His Excellency Abdullah Khalifa Yarouf Al Subosi, the Chairman of the Islamic Affairs Department in Sharjah, affirmed that the department continues its efforts to complete its Ramadan plan by inaugurating 30 mosques by the end of the holy month in various areas and suburbs of the emirate, emphasising that the total cost of building these mosques amounts to AED 160 million. This is in line with the approach followed by the Emirate of Sharjah, under the plan and supervision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and the Ruler of Sharjah.
Al  Subosi affirmed that the aim of inaugurating mosques is to facilitate the access of the emirate's residents to the houses of God, facilitate the performance of their rituals with devotion, ease, and tranquility, and provide a spiritual atmosphere and all means of comfort and tranquility for mosque-goers.

Al Subosi pointed out that Sharjah stands out for its numerous and distinguished mosques, appreciating to the care and support of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, may God protect him, and his keen follow-up on mosque construction projects in collaboration with the department, affirming that the department follows the approach of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, may God protect him, in caring for and supporting mosques that provide all facilities and services to donors and philanthropists in the emirate to support mosque construction projects financially and morally.

He explained that the department takes into consideration various factors when opening mosques, such as population density, urban development in the region, and the needs of its residents, in order to provide them with a spiritual atmosphere and all means of comfort and tranquility. This is due to the significant role and status of mosques in instilling Islamic values and ethics in society through conducting mosque lessons, Friday sermons, and Quran memorization circles.

Al Subosi emphasized that these new mosques are added to the shining landmarks of Sharjah with their minarets as they are characterized by diverse architectural designs that reflect the richness of Islamic civilization throughout the ages. Moreover, they contain all the necessary facilities that serve various segments of society, including the elderly and people with disabilities, such as special corridors and ramps for them, as well as restrooms. Furthermore, they are constructed according to the best international standards in terms of construction, water and energy conservation. Some of them are equipped with smart systems to control air conditioning, sound systems, and lighting, in line with the department's efforts to preserve environmental resources, reflecting the wise leadership's commitment to achieving sustainability.
