The maintenance work in the mosque included interior and exterior painting over an area of 12,272 square meters, replacing the external tiles of the mosque, as well as replacing the wooden doors of the entrances with aluminum ones. Additionally, a mortuary for women was established, and the concrete roof was insulated over an area of 3600 square meters. Furthermore, windows, bathrooms, and ablution areas were maintained, and the dome of the mosque was treated and fiberglass was supplied and installed for the upper ceiling of the mosque and all lighting units were replaced with energy-efficient ones that support the sustainability standards of the department's projects.
Engineer Abdullah Al-Taniji, the Branches Management Director, emphasized the importance of the mosque as a cultural and religious landmark in the region, providing a suitable environment for both worshippers and visitors. The maintenance work also included repairing the infrastructure of the mosque and rehabilitating the interior and exterior decorations. The lighting system was improved, and the floors and walls were refurbished to preserve the beauty and safety of the building.
