Sharjah24: In preparation for the blessed month of Ramadan, Al Hamriyah Municipality (AHM) has launched an inspection campaign to guarantee the safety of frequently traded foods and supply activities throughout the month of Ramadan. This effort also strives to guarantee that food establishments adhere to health regulations.
During Ramadan, the initiative aims to improve regulatory and preventative measures at sales outlets, including supermarkets, restaurants, cafeterias, popular kitchens, and all other food-related businesses in the Al Hamriyah region and the Sharjah Cooperative Society. Moreover, it includes markets selling meat, fish, vegetable, and fruit shops affiliated with the Al Jubail market in Al Hamriyah.

This initiative is part of a series of regulatory measures and plans in preparation for the upcoming month of Ramadan. The goal is to increase awareness and on-site monitoring to guarantee that food establishments adhere to the regulations for transporting, storing, preparing, and showcasing food items and supplies. It ensures that the cooking oils used for boiling are of high quality and genuine. Our primary goal is to strengthen oversight of preventative health measures, making sure that all restaurants in the Al Hamriyah area follow safety procedures and follow health and food safety requirements to safeguard the health of their customers.

His Excellency Mubarak Rashed Al Shamsi, Director of Al Hamriyah Municipality emphasised that the municipality's campaign focuses on plans centred on continuous development and delivering services that adhere to the highest standards of quality and safety. He highlighted the statistical analysis results from the Office of Studies and Technical Quality at the Public Health Department, emphasising the importance of maintaining the quality of oils used in cooking because of their connection to food preparation. The inspection programme was successful in accomplishing its objectives and produced excellent results.

Al Shamsi highlighted the Municipality's readiness for the upcoming month of Ramadan, emphasising the efforts of its specialised departments, inspection teams, and health and food control authorities. These initiatives focus on guaranteeing that food establishments are prepared to meet the necessary standards for handling food products and materials.

Al Shamsi outlined the goals of Al Hamriyah Municipality in the current campaigns, which focus on enforcing food safety standards for various aspects of food handling. Moreover, the objective is to ensure that employees in food establishments adhere to the highest standards of personal hygiene. He emphasised the continuous implementation of awareness campaigns for the restaurant sector, food supply, and food delivery services by Al Hamriyah Municipality.

Al Shamsi mentioned that the public health teams have started implementing their proactive programmes ahead of the upcoming month of Ramadan. The municipality's focused campaigns involve increasing awareness efforts, targeting those operating sales outlets in Al Hamriyah.

He highlighted that a series of intensive campaigns will follow this one during the blessed month of Ramadan, covering all locations in Al Hamriyah. Informative lectures will be arranged to educate different parts of the community about safe food shopping and other relevant topics for consumers during the holy month of Ramadan.
