Sharjah24: The Sharjah Fish Resources Authority (SFRA) recently organised the "Innovative Fisher" event during the UAE Innovation Month to strengthen partnerships with different organisations.
The event included 45 students from various schools in the emirate, working together with the Sharjah City Municipality and the Sharjah Private Education Authority.

The event focused on enhancing community involvement by raising awareness about the significance of fisheries and the need to conserve them, especially in supporting food security and educating children through interactive methods.

Ali Ahmed Abughazyain, Chairman of the Sharjah Fish Resources Authority, highlighted the significance of the event in developing students' skills, encouraging creative thinking, and raising awareness about fisheries and conservation.

He emphasised the event's unique workshops on fishing techniques that blend learning, enjoyment, and creativity to boost innovative thinking and inspire unconventional ideas.

Abughazyain highlighted that this event is one of many activities frequently arranged by the Authority at the Maritime Museum. The museum acts as a central educational centre for fisheries and a crucial location for learning, raising awareness, and displaying marine artefacts. He highlighted that the museum draws a significant crowd of visitors, school students, and children who come to explore fish species, fishing tools, their uses, and the role of fisheries in ensuring food security and supporting fishermen financially.
