Sharjah 24: Sultan Salah Al Ali and Abdullah Ghaloum, Taekwondo athletes from Sharjah Sports Club and members of the national Taekwondo team, are attending an international preparatory camp in Kazakhstan in preparation for the Asian qualifiers hosted by China in March, which will determine qualification for the Paris 2024 Olympics. The two-week camp will take place in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
The camp agenda includes physical and technical training sessions, as well as matches against Olympic and international players, for additional exposure and match experience. The players will face high-level opponents in the Asian qualifiers.
Eng. Suleiman Abdul Rahman Al Hajri, Member of the Board of Directors of Sharjah Sports Club and Head of the Individual Games Department thanked the Sharjah Sports Council for its unwavering support for individual games in all of their forms, as well as its follow-up and plans, which have contributed to their growth and numerous successes.
Al Hajri added, "The Sharjah Sports Council has made significant efforts to bring about a revival in the realm of individual games. The council's recent triumphs are the product of its work over the years. The council's assistance and follow-up have helped Sharjah Sports Club achieve significant success both within and outside of all sports."
He highlighted that the club has plans and methods in place to propel bright players to the top levels by sustaining and equipping them with all they need to flourish, as well as sending them to foreign contests. He believed that the camp would be a good start for our players and that they would accomplish positive outcomes with luck on their side.
