Sharjah 24: The eleventh annual "Friends of Arthritis Patients marathon" attracted 5,000 participants, according to Wahida Abdulaziz, Chairperson of the Friends of Arthritis Patients in Sharjah.
The Arthritis Patients Society and the Supreme Council for Family Affairs' Health Education Management are co-hosting the marathon, which will take place on Sharjah's Mamzar beachfront.
Abdulaziz emphasised that the charitable marathon enjoys significant attention and interest from Her Highness. Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah.
She went on to tell "Sharjah 24" that people from all walks of life participated in the marathon, with distances ranging from one to twenty-one miles.
Goals include getting more people in the community involved in sports, bringing attention to the situation of arthritis sufferers, and offering assistance to those who suffer from the disease.
Wahida Abdulaziz thanked everyone who took part in the marathon and the many organisations and institutions that made it possible.
