Sharjah 24: As part of the activities of the UAE Innovates, His Excellency Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah (UOS) inaugurated the exhibition of innovative projects presented by UOS students from various colleges under the slogan "UAE Innovates 2024" in the presence of several Vice Chancellors, college deans and faculty members at the university.
The exhibition will run for a week from 15 to 21 February 2024 and includes a range of events, activities, competitions and workshops on creativity and innovation within the fields of artificial intelligence applications, health sciences, medicine, and engineering.

The exhibition featured more than 30 projects from the Colleges of Computing and Informatics, Engineering, Pharmacy, Fine Arts and Design, Science, Business Administration and Health Sciences. The ideas of innovative projects also varied, including a program for artificial intelligence applications in energy physics, a guide robot for the College of Computing and Informatics, a program to distinguish Arabic dialects through conversations, a program to analyse the content of video materials and write a report on them, and an electronic robot for planning and organising trips, , and programs specialised in determining geographical locations through the analysis of written texts, artificial intelligence applications in the medical field, follow-up of medical cases, assisting medical staff in making the appropriate decision, assisting surgeons in the operating room, and interpreting sign language.

Among the new innovative ideas in the field of environmental protection include the project presented in promoting agriculture under solar cells in solar power plants, the project of sustainable agriculture on treated wastewater, the use of types of soil available in the UAE in the manufacture of parts of water filters, accurate devices to detect water pollutants, the design of a sustainable environmental wall using artificial intelligence technology, and other technological applications in the fields of medicine, public health, arts and business administration.
