Sharjah24: The University of Sharjah (UoS) welcomed a large number of high school students during the “Scientific Open Day”, aimed at introducing students to the UoS’s academic programs, services, admission requirements and campus life. The event was inaugurated by His Excellency Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of UoS, and organized by the Marketing and Student Recruitment Department (MSR), in collaboration with the Colleges of Sciences, Computing and Informatics, and Engineering, as well as the Admission Department, and the Foreign Language Center. The event spanned two days, in the presence of vice chancellors, college deans, department heads and faculty members.
The Chancellor emphasized that this day provides a unique opportunity for high school students to participate in various scientific experiments and educational activities, explore academic programs that meet the requirements of the job market in the fields of science, computing, mathematics, engineering, and chemistry. This allows students to determine academic paths that align with their interests, practical and intellectual capabilities, emphasizing the University's commitment to enhancing the skills and knowledge of students and empowering them.
Dr. Nadia Farhat, Director of the Marketing and Student Recruitment Department, highlighted that the Scientific Open Day attracted nearly 3000 male and female student from 40 public and private schools across various emirates, during which students had the chance to meet and engage with faculty members, ask questions, and gain insights into the University of Sharjah’s college majors, study plans and the job opportunities available.
