Rashid Al Marzouqi, Deputy Director of the Conservation Department, affirmed that the authority is working on organizing workshops and campaigns to promote a culture of consumption reduction in various sectors, targeting all segments of society. This is part of its integrated strategy for an aware and sustainable community, and to preserve the resources that support sustainable development.
He explained that the authority adopts a comprehensive awareness plan to raise community awareness in the field of energy and water conservation. This is achieved through organizing programs and workshops that serve different segments and strengthen cooperation with various entities. This contributes to fulfilling aspirations and promoting societal awareness to achieve sustainable development and enhance quality of life.
He pointed out that the workshops, programs, and activities organized by the authority in 2023 have contributed to enhancing the capabilities of participants, including students, homemakers, and the general public, in conserving electricity and water in homes, facilities, and beyond. This is done to preserve natural resources and ensure their sustainability for future generations. The workshops and awareness programs were organized as part of various initiatives, including the "Generations of Tomorrow," "Conservation Homes," "Your Conservation in Your Hands," "Be a Guide," "Environmental Sustainability," "Innovating Emirates," "Conservation for Children in SEWA," "Clean Energy Pioneers Project," "SEWA Summer Camp," and participation in various events and festivals such as the Suburb and Village Festival, Sharjah Shines with its Events, and others.
