Sharjah24: In the context of fostering collaboration between the governmental and volunteer sectors, the Sharjah Volunteer Center, under the Sharjah Social Services Department, and the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah recently inked a cooperative agreement. The primary goal of this agreement is to enhance coordination and sustained cooperation across various facets of volunteer work, ultimately working towards shared objectives between the two entities.
Hessa Mohammed Al Hammadi, Director of the Community Cohesion Department at Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD), signed the agreement on behalf of the Sharjah Volunteer Center. Afraa Saif Al Shaer, the Director of Administrative and Financial Affairs, signed on behalf of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs.

The agreement encompasses diverse areas aimed at bolstering collaboration, including the development of joint volunteer programmes and the organisation of events and workshops to support families and raise awareness about the significance of social values.

As part of the agreement, the Department, as the initiating party, pledges to present the schedule of volunteer opportunities and initiatives, allowing for the announcement of such opportunities on the Sharjah Volunteering platform. The Department will also furnish the Council with the volunteer work guide and extend support for its initiatives and events. Conversely, the Council will be responsible for developing volunteer opportunities, soliciting volunteers, coordinating their participation, and raising awareness within the community about the Council's pivotal role.

The commitments of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs include proposing and managing volunteer opportunities and initiatives following guidelines, requesting and determining the number of volunteers and their roles. Moreover, the Council will encourage employees to register as volunteers on the Sharjah Volunteering platform, provide resources for volunteer activities, and organise their participation based on required skills to enhance social responsibility.

Hessa Al Hammadi commended the collaboration with the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, aligning with the Sharjah Volunteer Center's objectives to promote volunteer work and serve the community. She underscored the shared commitment of both parties to effective cooperation in achieving common goals.
