Sharjah 24: During the fourth quarter of 2023, the Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD) maintained its commitment to reintegrating ex-prisoners into society through the "Let's start anew" project at Dar Al Aman.
A team of advisors and professionals from the Department of Social Services monitors the initiative, according to Fatima Ismail, Director of Dar Al Aman. Its goal is to help ex-prisoners reintegrate into society by empowering them through rehabilitation and comprehensive care initiatives.
In addressing the issues encountered by prisoners, discharged persons, and their families, the project recognises them as a vulnerable social group that requires ongoing institutional and community assistance. It highlights the importance of regular modifications to procedures and programmes based on best practices.
The programme has gained strategic collaboration and support from the General Command of Sharjah Police, indicating a concerted effort to improve the efficacy of rehabilitation programmes and contribute to the successful reintegration of people into society.
