This event is part of the Sharjah Age-Friendly City programme and the strategic efforts to activate activities preserving Sharjah's membership in the Global Network of Age-Friendly Cities 024–2026).
A number of senior Emirati ladies took part in the gathering.
An affiliate of the institute, the UAE Handicrafts Centre, and several government agencies in the Emirate of Sharjah worked together to organise the event.
The purpose of the event, according to Aisha Ghabish, Director of the Events and Activities Department at the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, is to facilitate better communication across generations, promote social unity, and maintain the genuine identity of Emirati families in society.
Sharjah, she stated, is the first Arab city to become a member of the Global Network of Age-Friendly Cities, and this event is an effort to highlight this reality.
