Mleiha Winter Marathon witnesses great turnout of families

During the event
Sharjah 24: Mleiha witnessed, on Saturday, the launch of the Mleiha Winter Marathon, one of the most prominent community winter events.
His Excellency Ahmed Salem Awad Al Ketbi, Member of the Sharjah Consultative Council, Mohammed Sultan Al Khassouni, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mleiha Sports Club, and Mohammed Awad Al Ketbi, Member of the Board of Directors of the Mleiha Club, in addition to representatives of participating parties, a large number of visitors, families and the media, attended the event. 

The organisation of the sporting event was an initiative of the Mleiha Municipal Council, the Mleiha Municipality, the Mleiha Sports Club, BEEAH, the Sharjah Sports Council, and the Sharjah Police General Command.

The marathon attracted a large family gathering, as this sporting event constituted the largest family sporting event in the region.

The marathon competition was open to individuals over the age of 16, witnessing a remarkable remarkable presence of sports fans.

His Excellency Ahmed Salem Awad Al Ketbi, Mohammed Sultan Al Khassouni, Mohammed Awad Al Ketbi, Faisal Al Hammadi and Badr Al Mazmi from the Mleiha Club honoured and crowned the winners of the marathon.

Ahmed Salem Awad Al Ketbi stressed that such winter events, especially the marathon, enhance sportsmanship and strengthen social ties in our region in light of the great turnout witnessed by the marathon and the large size of the family presence, pointing out that this partnership will continue by encouraging individuals to practice sports and take care of their health.

Mohammed Sultan Al Khassouni stated that organising the marathon in the Mleiha area comes within the framework of the club’s commitment to developing institutional partnerships, promoting sports activities and encouraging the community to adopt a healthy lifestyle. This event reflects the club's vision of building a society that puts health and fitness at the top of its priorities. 

Mohammed Awad Al Ketbi pointed out that the marathon is an opportunity to encourage family connection and positive interaction, and the Mleiha Club works hard through its staff to promote and consolidate this trend and build a community culture towards practicing sports.
