Sharjah 24: Mleiha in the Emirate of Sharjah is preparing to host the Mleiha Winter Marathon, which will be held from Saturday, January 20, at 4 pm next to Tawi Humaid.

Sports and fitness enthusiasts are looking towards the Mleiha Winter Marathon to enjoy a day full of activity and sporting challenges.

The sports competition is one of the initiatives aimed at promoting physical activity and adopting a healthy lifestyle among community members.

The competition is designated for participants over the age of 16, and is open to all segments of society, making it a family sporting event par excellence. Valuable prizes will be distributed to the winners at the end of the marathon.

The marathon activities are a joint initiative of the Mleiha Municipal Council, the Mleiha Municipality, and the Mleiha Sports Club, in cooperation with BEEAH, the Sharjah Sports Council, and the Sharjah Police General Command.

The Mleiha Winter Marathon reflects the community’s commitment to promoting physical fitness and public health, encourages family participation, and enhances connection among community members. It also contributes to building bridges of understanding and interconnection between the participating parties.

All community members are asked to participate and be present in the marathon activities starting at 3:30 p.m., where participants can cover a distance of approximately 2 kilometres.

Mohammed Sultan Al Khasouni, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mleiha Club, stated that the marathon event comes as an important step in promoting sports activities in Mleiha, as the participating parties seek to support healthy living and physical activity among the community, thanking all the participating parties for their efforts and look forward to the continuation of this positive interaction.
