Sharjah 24: As part of initiatives to raise health awareness and combat the spread of diabetes, two students from Al Qasimia University, Mohammed Yunus Ghazi from Bangladesh and Ensar Abazi from the Republic of Albania, actively participated in the Diabetes Ambassadors programme organised by the Friends for Diabetes under the Supreme Council for Family Affairs.
The involvement of Al Qasimia University students in the Diabetes Ambassadors programme is deemed a valuable contribution to endeavours aiming to foster a healthier and more health-conscious community. This aligns with the programme's vision, established in collaboration between the association and Al Qasimia University.

Within this framework, Ensar Abazi, a student at the university's Language Centre, conducted a series of informative lectures at the Red Cross Institute in Macedonia. These lectures targeted diverse groups to elucidate the risks of diabetes and strategies for prevention.

Similarly, Mohammed Yunus Ghazi, enrolled in the College of Arts and Humanities at Al Qasimia University, presented an awareness lecture in the village of Ibrahimpur in the Sandbore district of Bangladesh on the topic of "Diabetes and Pregnancy." He underscored the significance of disseminating health knowledge among pregnant women to safeguard their well-being and that of their children.

This collective effort is part of an initiative to curb the prevalence of diabetes and furnish essential information to pregnant women, ensuring their safety and the well-being of their unborn children.

Ahlam bin Jarash, Assistant Director of Al Qasimia University for Female Student Affairs and a member of the Board of Directors of the Friends for Diabetes, expressed her contentment with the ongoing success of the Diabetes Ambassadors programme, thanks to the dedication of Al Qasimia University students who actively contribute to awareness initiatives aimed at preventing this disease.

He Excellency Khawla Taher Al Hajj, Head of the Friends for Diabetes, expressed her gratitude to Al Qasimia University for the dedicated efforts of the students. She affirmed that the active involvement and participation of university students in the Diabetes Ambassadors programme reflect a sincere commitment to promoting health awareness and combating the spread of diabetes.
