Sharjah24: In a recent accomplishment that adds to the track record of its members in technical and programming excellence, the Rubu' Qarn Foundation for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators showcased an outstanding presence during its participation in the 2023 Asia Skills Global Competition's second edition. Hosted by the United Arab Emirates at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC), the foundation's involvement extended from serving as judges and overseeing competitors' performances in various categories to achieving excellence by securing a medal in the Mobile Robots for Kids category.
Participating as experts and monitors, Mohammed Al-Mazroui, Abdulrahman Al-Kamali, Khaled Al-Shaloubi Al-Naqbi, Hamad Qurban, and Mariam Al Ali from the Sharjah Capability Development (Tatweer) demonstrated consistent excellence in the scientific field, robotics technologies, applications, and artificial intelligence engineering at both the national and global levels.
Mustafa Jamal Al-Jasmi and Ahmed Saeed Al-Mazmi, members of Sharjah Youth, earned the Excellence Medal in the Mobile Robots for Kids category. They exhibited their acquired skills through a series of intensive training programmes within the ambitious strategy of the Rubu’ Qarn for Science and Technology. They successfully built, designed, and programmed a robot capable of assisting medical professionals in accessing medications, handling hazardous substances, and contributing to solving problems faced by patients in a simulation of hospital working environments. This signals their future capability to innovate in the field of artificial intelligence.
The Excellence Medal represents a significant addition to the scientific and technical achievements of the Sharjah Youth organisation, particularly following their first-place victories at the national level in the RoboCup onstage and RoboCup Simulation competitions in the National Artificial Intelligence Championship.
