The Chairman of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA), Khaled Jasim Al Midfa, has stressed the importance of the organisation's dedication to environmental conservation standards and the implementation of programmes and initiatives that support sustainable and eco-friendly tourism.
Al Midfa praised the United Arab Emirates for its sustainable development and environmental protection initiatives, pointing out that the country hosted the COP28 conference, a major international gathering that demonstrated the UAE's leadership in these areas.

As the Chairman pointed out, the COP28 conference is a great chance for the tourist industry to learn about new sustainable tourism trends, share their own stories and insights, promote green tourism as a whole, and find solutions that adhere to strict environmental regulations.

According to Al Midfa, the authority is committed to following Sharjah's directives and putting sustainability policies in place within the tourism industry. They will also make smart use of resources to achieve eco-friendly tourism principles, which will strengthen the positive effects of tourism.
