Sharjah24: Hamad Ali Abdalla Al Mahmoud, Chairman of Sharjah Economic Development Department “SEDD”, received a delegation from “Sharjah Digital Office” headed by Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Director of the Office. This meeting aims at enhancing means of cooperation and coordination between the two sides to unify digital transformation as well as attaining sustainability in the provision of government services in the emirate, through the selection of available human and technical resources.
At the beginning of the meeting, Hamad Ali Abdalla Al Mahmoud, SEDD Chairman, welcomed the delegation and stressed on the importance of holding such meeting to strengthen cooperation and coordination to contribute to achieving sustainable economic development in Sharjah.
During the meeting, ways of future coordination and exchange of ideas and experiences between the two parties were discussed, especially in the field of the economic map, data governance, as well as the unified company registration portal in order to achieve the future vision of the emirate.
Commenting on the meeting, SEDD Chairman stressed on the importance of adopting best practices by the Department and building an advanced digital system that works around the clock to serve the community in a sustainable manner. Likely, SEDD Chairman clarified that it is crucial to develop individuals’ lives by using data securely, and provide integrated services to everyone with simplified work mechanisms that save them effort and time.
Likewise, SEDD Chairman pointed out that the cooperation with Sharjah Digital Office is considered one of the strategic goals of the Department to enhance coordination and cooperation between them and based on the keenness to strive diligently to contribute constructively and positively to achieving sustainable economic development for Sharjah. This makes the emirate occupy a distinguished position at the regional and international levels, which contributes to providing more services and facilities. Additionally, SEDD Chairman explained that the Department works within a joint government work system in which all roles from all government agencies, institutions and bodies are integrated to provide the best services that reflect the emirate’s position as a global city that provides the best and finest services in all areas of life.
By the end of the meeting, SEDD Chairman praised the efforts of Sharjah Digital Office for its role in enhancing the formulation of public policy and strategic plans related to digital transformation and data policies at the emirate level, as well as developing and simplifying services and raising them to the highest levels in order to achieve a sustainable business environment.
