Sharjah 24: In joint cooperation between the Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources (SDHR) and Sharjah Establishment to support pioneering entrepreneurs “Ruwad”, affiliated with Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD), Ruwad provided an introductory workshop for job seekers registered in SDHR system.
The workshop was held at the headquarters of Al Qasimia University in Sharjah, under the title (Managing Successful Projects, a Step towards Financing).

The workshop introduced Ruwad services, events and initiatives, and the most prominent specialised training programmes and professional diplomas that it offers. In addition to the most important stages for launching a business project, and steps needed by entrepreneur.

This cooperation comes within the framework of the strategic approach pursued by Sharjah government entities and institutions in an effort to achieve common goals. SDHR is concerned with developing and qualifying national youth professionals, and adopting all programmes that support their development and empowerment.

“Ruwad” seeks to spread the culture of self-employment and entrepreneurship in society, through a series of ongoing initiatives and activities, providing introductory workshops about its services and privileges in the field of entrepreneurship and supporting and launching small and medium enterprises in the Emirate of Sharjah.

The workshop targeted approximately 40 job seekers, who hold different academic degrees, and listed in SDHR system.

Through the workshop, participants were trained on how to acquire and develop the skills and abilities of entrepreneurship, the initial steps for starting small projects, and practical application in preparing a feasibility study. The workshop also introduced methods for achieving direct communication between entrepreneurs’ ideas and the target market, and potential opportunities and challenges in the project.

The workshop lecturer, Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Al Awadhi, presented comprehensive explanations for choosing, defining, starting a small project providing the necessary resources, taking risks, and achieving financial profit. Al Awadhi discussed means of discovering investment opportunities, developing the business strategy and establishment plan, in addition to determining the target customer segment, pricing, competitive management, and finance and accounting affairs.

SDHR and Ruwad cooperation translates the efforts of both parties in strengthening supportive strategic partnerships. It outlines the complementarity of roles and contributes to achieving the aspirations and plans of the Emirate of Sharjah, in supporting citizens seeking work and enabling them to prosper and live a decent life by motivating them to enter the field of self-employment, and making optimal use of the fertile business environment and privileges granted by the Emirate of Sharjah to establish and expand investment activities.
