Sharjah24: Under the patronage of Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Sheikh Saeed bin Saqr bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Head of the Office of His Highness the Ruler in Khorfakkan, and Sheikh Haitham bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Deputy Head of the Ruler's Office in Kalba, crowned the champions of the 3rd edition of the Kalba Beach Games.
The games commenced on November 16th, with an incredible number of 2,376 players from over 54 teams taking part in a wide range of team and individual sports. In addition to the sports competitions, participants also engaged in activities such as yoga and obstacle challenges. The event showcased a total of seven main sports. The tournament came to an end with an exciting final football match, in which the Ittihad Kalba team emerged victorious.
The closing ceremony was attended by Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police; Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council; Abdul Malik Mohammed Jani, Vice President of the Council and Chairman of the Organising Committee; as well as several dignitaries, a number of heads and representatives of sports federations and clubs, government entities, companies, supporting and sponsoring organisations, and a large audience.
The last day of the tournament witnessed the conclusion of a number of different games.
The closing ceremony also featured the honouring of the key contributors to the success of this year’s edition, such as sports federations, clubs, institutions, organisations, and supporting and sponsoring companies. The organising committee and subcommittees were also honoured during the event.
Abdul Malik Mohammed Jani extended his gratitude to Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, for his continued support of the tournament for the third year in a row, stressing that this sponsorship has played a crucial role in the ongoing success and accomplishment of the tournament's objectives.
He also also expressed appreciation for the efforts of everyone involved in organising the tournament's competitions and accompanying events, praising the guidance and follow-up of His Excellency Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council.
In addition, he thanked the organising committee and subcommittees, emphasising the crucial role played by the enthusiastic audience who followed the tournament's competitions and events.
