Sharjah24: The Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) and the Emirates News Agency (WAM) are hosting the second iteration of the Global Media Congress from November 14 to 16, which will feature leaders, experts, influencers, academics, university students, and youth from around the world. The Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB) is eager to participate.
As part of its participation in the Global Media Congress, the Sharjah Government Media Bureau will unveil a bouquet of 16 specialised sessions and workshops dealing with the media, government communication, and new media.
HE Tariq Saeed Allay, Director General of the SGMB, stressed the Bureau’s keenness to enhance its participation in the second edition of the Global Media Congress, as it is one of the most important local and international media events to enhance and develop the media work environment, and in view of the positive results achieved by the SGMB in its participation last year.
Allay stressed that the SGMB’s participation in the Media Congress addresses a number of issues and interests consistent with the themes of the Abu Dhabi event, namely, sustainability, education, challenges, opportunities, and innovation, in addition to sports media, and the growing role of new technologies and artificial intelligence in the media.
SGMB sessions
The SGMB’s participation in the Congress on the first day will see discussions highlighting the importance of positive communication and emotional intelligence, the role of the official spokesperson in enhancing public confidence in government agencies, best practices and strategies, in addition to discussing ways to create a promising media generation, the role of sports media in enhancing cultural communication between peoples, and the importance of partnerships and youth in shaping the future. Moreover, stories of successful media coverage will be showcased.
Day two of the Congress will spotlight issues of new media and community sustainability, present youth experiences and their active contributions to society, discuss their challenges, and anticipate the future of media in the era of artificial intelligence. The session will also underscore the importance of a culture of innovation and how to build and enhance it, and discuss the professional skills required in digital media.
The SGMB agenda on the third day will address the role of the media in supporting societal issues, the tasks of media professionals in delivering positive messages upholding the standards of truth and transparency, the media trends of the new generation, and the role of the image in enriching the story by conveying ideas. The session will discuss sustainability media and societal responsibility, reviewing the challenges and opportunities offered by modern developments and technologies.
The SGMB agenda also showcases its unique success stories involving the Sharjah Government Communication Award, the Ithmaar media training programme for children and youth, the Job Shadow Programme, and the Official Spokesperson Programme. There will also be a focus on other successful initiatives by other entities of the Sharjah government.
The Bureau is also keen to use the global platform of the Congress to share its remarkable achievements in promoting government communication in the region since its inception and other initiatives of the Sharjah government in the media and communication sectors.
