On its second day, the Sharjah Government Media Bureau's pavilion welcomed many information ministers from around the world, media officials, and Global Media Congress attendees, who lauded the bureau's accomplishments and development initiatives.
The Bureau's future plans, vision, and programmes were outlined for the guests, and strategies for international cooperation and information and knowledge sharing to aid the media sector and government communication were reviewed.
The Sharjah Government Media Bureau's International Centre for Government Communication has launched the second edition of the Professional Diploma Programme in Strategic Government Communication in conjunction with a number of international universities.
According to Alia Al Suwaidi, Director of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, the Bureau's goal is to prepare and support specialised capacities, as well as enhance the skills and knowledge of government communication employees, communication students, and others interested in various areas of government communication, resulting in the overall development of the sector and motivating the Bureau to implement this programme.
She emphasised that the programme is implemented in collaboration with professionals and experts and that it covers the most up-to-date theories of government communication while also analysing case studies and experiences of success and failure in government communication around the world.
Employees of all public relations departments, departments of media, and corporate communication in government and private institutions, as well as interested journalists and editors, are included in the target audiences for the International Centre for Government Communication's professional diploma programme, which features a comprehensive academic and practical programme designed to introduce trainees to all basic areas of government communication.
Visitors at the Global Media Congress were interested in the Sharjah Government Media Bureau's Smart Media platform because of its capacity to store and manage media information that is indexable, searchable, and shareable.
When it comes to leading, managing, and organising the future of media, the Emirate of Sharjah has taken the lead thanks to this platform, which is the first of its kind in the region and, of course, simulates the directions of the United Arab Emirates, which is a role model in the use of AI in the workplace and in the development of the economy.
The platform helps bring together the Emirate of Sharjah's media workers, cultivate notable competencies in government communication and media work across multiple government agencies and departments, elevate media dialogue with the public, and foster a collaborative atmosphere.
The "Career Shadowing" Programme, an initiative of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, surveyed the state of education in the field of communication and media before, during, and after the Corona pandemic.
Researchers hope to learn how much of an influence the programme had on the knowledge, confidence, and abilities of the communication and media students and professionals who administered the programme's training.
The study uncovered the program's function in training students during the Corona epidemic and future expectations from the programme, highlighting the most important benefits, such as the simplicity of interacting with digital platforms, the appropriateness of the duration of the programme, the quality of the offered information, and the adaptability of the training materials to meet the needs of individuals.
The study found that the Career Shadowing programme helped its participants enhance their abilities by exposing them to professionals in the media industry, giving them opportunities to learn from them, and encouraging them to pursue careers in the sector.
The Sharjah Press Club implemented more than twenty different training programmes to improve professional communication and continuous knowledge growth for employees in the field of journalism and media. Visitors to the Sharjah Government Media Bureau platform were given a detailed overview of the programmes and activities.
The club organises sessions and meetings on occasion to improve professional relationships among journalists, media professionals, and government agencies, as well as to inspire and encourage employees in the field and spread a culture of excellence.
Every year, the Sharjah Press Club hosts a programme called "Ithmar" to increase young people's media literacy and teach them the fundamentals of journalism and media careers so that they can play an active role in the country's ongoing construction and development.
For three days, the Sharjah Government Media Bureau will represent the media experience of the Emirate of Sharjah and the Bureau's initiatives and programmes connected to the media and government communication sectors at the "Global Media Congress."
