Sharjah 24: Arabic Language Educational Centre for Gulf States (ALECGS) in Sharjah an affiliate of the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States will launch a series of programmes during its current 2023/2024 session, which includes a number of studies, research and projects.
The programmes come within the framework of achieving the strategies of ALECGS and the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States. The programmes target institutions teaching the Arabic language and specialists in the field of teaching and learning the Arabic language, including designers of Arabic curricula, administrations, teachers, and educational supervisors who work in Arabic language institutions.

His Excellency Dr. Issa Saleh Al Hammadi, Chairman of Arabic Language Educational Centre for Gulf States (ALECGS), stressed the importance of such programmes, which go with the development of teaching the Arabic language according to educational systems and advanced institutions aiming to develop students' skills.

Al Hammadi explained that such programmes work to provide the learner with experiences and trends that help acquire creative writing skills using some e-learning strategies, and provide experiences and skills enabling the use of such techniques, as well as to organise the periodic Arabic language contests that discover the linguistic potential and abilities of gifted students according to a set of criteria and indicators in the field of poetry and novel.

Al Hammadi explained that conducting a study on developing reading comprehension skills among students in the public education stages led to describe the current reality of reading comprehension levels while working on developing students’ reading comprehension skills in public education stages by using some reading comprehension strategies for public education students, and developing the experiences of educational supervisors, principals, assistants, and teachers in applying proposals and procedures to develop reading comprehension skills among students in the public education stages, and activating the role of public schools in developing reading comprehension skills among students in the general education stages.
