Sharjah 24: The General Secretariat of the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) hoisted the national flag of the UAE, in response to an invitation by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President of the UAE, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai. This act reflects the council's commitment to participating in this important national event.
The UAE flag was raised on the flagpole located on the front of the SCC building, overlooking Kuwait Square, accompanied by the playing of the UAE national anthem.
The event was attended by Ahmed Saeed Al Jarwan, Secretary General of Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC), and the staff of the General Secretariat of the SCC, including department heads, section heads, and all employees who proudly raised the UAE flag in observance of this occasion.
Al Jarwan conveyed his warm congratulations and best wishes to UAE wise leadership. He also extended his greetings to all the citizens and residents of the UAE on the occasion of Flag Day.
He emphasised that the council's participation in Flag Day celebrations underscores the unity of the people of the UAE, both citizens and residents, under the wise leadership and their deep respect for the flag, which symbolises their pride, dignity, and reverence.
Al Jarwan pointed out that the council's involvement represents a strong sense of pride, belonging, and admiration for the UAE's achievements and all the milestones that have been reached. It also offers a valuable opportunity for everyone to pause and reflect on the UAE flag as it flies high, evoking the moment when the founding fathers united to proudly raise the UAE flag.
