Sharjah24 - WAM: Dr. Omar Al Nuaimi, Secretary-General of the Federal National Council (FNC), and member of the Association of Secretaries General of Parliaments (ASGP), participated in the ASGP meeting, held as part of the 147th Assembly meetings of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Luanda, Angola.
Afraa Al Basti, Assistant Secretary-General for Parliamentary Communication at the FNC, accompanied the FNC Secretary-General.
The meeting discussed topics around the capabilities of parliaments in terms of utilising and regulating artificial intelligence (AI) solutions, and parliamentary digital transformation, as well as the ASGP's projects and boosting transparency and accountability.
During the meeting, Dr. Al Nuaimi showcased the FNC General Secretariat's digital transformation strategy, including its efforts to adopt digital solutions, best practices, and expertise in the field to optimise operational efficiency at the FNC.
He noted that parliaments must spread awareness of digitisation and implement programmes to digitise parliamentary procedures, while also encouraging and empowering personnel to utilise such technology.
