Sharjah24: Dalal Al Yamahi, Director of the Environment and Protected Areas Authority (EPAA) branch in the city of Kalba, confirmed that the 9th edition of the environmental awareness campaign for mountainous areas’ goers had successfully achieved all its objectives.
In the presence of Hana Saif Al Suwaidi, Chairperson of the Environment and Protected Areas Authority in Sharjah, the Authority organised the closing ceremony of the environmental awareness campaign. The event witnessed the honouring of the participants.
Awatif Al Naqbi, Director of the Environment and Protected Areas Authority branch in Khorfakkan, as well as a large group of officials and representatives of government departments and sector institutions in the Eastern Region attended the ceremony, which was held at Al Hefaiyah Mountain Conservation Centre in Kalba.
Dalal Al Yamahi also stated that the event coincided with the conclusion of the campaign, which successfully achieved all its goals.
She explained to “Sharjah24” that the campaign aims to raise public awareness about ways to preserve mountainous areas, including trees, plants, and rocks, with avoiding throwing trash in mountainous locations.
Concluding her statement, Al Yamahi stated that xthe event witnessed a remarkable appreciation and interaction from various segments of society in the Eastern Region, which contributes to preserving environmental diversity and the cultural appearance of those areas.
