Sharjah24: His Excellency Khalid Jassim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA), stressed that the Authority organised a dialogue session in conjunction with the World Tourism Day (WTD), discussing ways to enhance sustainability.

Speaking exclusively to “Sharjah 24”, His Excellency Khalid Jassim Al Midfa confirmed that tourism indicators show a 20% increase in the current year 2023 compared to 2019, which reflects the great efforts made by the UAE and the Emirate of Sharjah in attracting visitors and providing the best services and facilities.

Al Midfa stressed that the world celebrates World Tourism Day, shedding light on the countries’ remarkable role in various fields, including the tourism sector.

He stated that the discussion session held today focused on the theme of sustainability, which is being highlighted this year, witnessing the participation of professionals from the tourist industry as well as specialists in the field of sustainability from the government and commercial sectors.

During the event, the attendees were briefed about the best solutions, practices, developments and future outlook that can be adopted in the Emirate of Sharjah, emphasising the importance of sustainability in the different vital sectors, including tourism.
