Sharjah 24: His Excellency Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, stated that the message from the “Be Aware” interactive platform is to prevent electronic fraud crimes and educate community members on how to use proactive and preventive measures in such cases.
His Excellency maintained that the message that the relevant authorities on the interactive platform “Be Aware” wants to convey is the prevention of electronic fraud crimes in all its forms and raise awareness of community members on how to use proactive and preventive measures in such cases, stressing that prevention is better than treatment.
His Excellency pointed out that the platform includes 6 interactive stations; which are: electronic extortion, phone fraud, electronic fraud, electronic impersonation, electronic hacking, and interactive electronic games intended for children, as they are the most important target groups in the awareness campaign, and given the great demand among children for technological games on various websites, with their unawareness of the dangerous consequences in this field.
Concluding his statement, His Excellency said that these crimes cross continents, that’s why the Department of Criminal Investigation and the Department Media and Public Relations, as part of their awareness efforts and in cooperation with strategic partners, were keen to create this interactive platform and enhance electronic security awareness among all segments of society.
